Athletic clothes with no zippers, buttons, or pockets — board shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard are perfect for no-gi. Gi classes require a gi, so if you don't have one yet, no-gi is a great place to start. Bring a water bottle and flip-flops for walking off the mat, and come 10–15 minutes early your first day to sign a waiver and meet a coach.

For gi classes, you'll need your own gi. If you don't have one yet, no-gi classes only need shorts and a rashguard or t-shirt — a lot of people start there while they get set up. Not sure what gi to buy? Message us and we'll help you pick the right one.

Absolutely — that's how everyone begins. Every class scales to your level, you set your own pace, and you'll never be thrown in over your head. The fitness comes from showing up, not before it.

It's a contact sport, so there's always some risk — but jiu-jitsu is built around control and the tap. The moment anything feels like too much, you tap and the round resets. Coaches pair newer students carefully and keep the room honest.

A warm-up, then the technique of the day, then drilling it with a partner. Most classes finish with optional live rounds — "rolling." You can sit rounds out any time while you're finding your feet.

Yes — we run a dedicated kids program. Check the weekly schedule above for current class times. It's focused on coordination, discipline, and confidence, with self-defense fundamentals worked in, and it's a lot of fun. Their first class is free too.
